Your support means more mums can enjoy more birthdays, more celebrations, and more time with their families.
For those who have given in honour of their mums who have passed away, thank you so much for your kindness.
You have helped make our very first Giving Day together such a success. Together, we can continue to work towards a future where no mums, daughters, sisters, or grandmothers are lost to breast cancer.
For our mums currently facing breast cancer—the one in seven women who will experience breast cancer in their lifetime.
For our mums who we’ve already lost—to honour the memories of the nine women who die every day from breast cancer.
This Giving Day is a day for our compassionate community of supporters to come together and raise as much as possible to bring hope to so many mums and their families.
Thank you for joining us in this giving day, for our mums.
For mums like Gemma
Gemma received her breast cancer diagnosis when she was only 27. Gemma’s biggest fear was that breast cancer would mean she wouldn’t be able to be a mum, or live to raise her kids.
But thanks to kind supporters, Breast Cancer Trials has made incredible discoveries through clinical trials into better treatments. These findings gave Gemma options which meant, after completing her chemotherapy treatment, she was able to have her first baby.
For mums like Louise
Most women diagnosed with breast cancer today will be just like Louise, they have worked hard for their retirement and are looking forward to a future with their family and friends.
Louise was a participant in our EXPERT trial which is investigating whether some women could avoid radiation therapy and its harrowing side effects—without compromising their survival. Louise shared: “I hope I can be part of changing the future for other women and their families too.”
For mums like Lee
Lee’s body was so devastated from chemotherapy that she couldn’t work in her profession as a registered nurse.
Breast Cancer Trials researchers are leaving no stone unturned to figure out how we can improve treatment options for mums like Lee like the OPTIMA trial. OPTIMA is exploring whether some women can avoid chemotherapy and its potential overwhelming side effects.
“I love my family and I just want to enjoy them. Without research, where would we be?”
