Support my walk for breast cancer to help save lives.
Six years ago, in 2020, I was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 3 breast cancer. I was also told I had just a 28% chance of surviving five years.
Well... here I am. Six years later. 💗
That same year, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, and my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer. As if that wasn't enough, it all happened in the middle of COVID lockdowns.
I've undergone genetic testing and, so far, there are no known genetic markers that explain why cancer has impacted our family so heavily. But we also know research is constantly evolving. The BRCA gene wasn't discovered until the mid-1990s, and new genetic links are being identified all the time. Every breakthrough happens because research continues.
I have a fierce, funny and incredible 13-year-old daughter who I genuinely believe will change the world one day. I never want her to have to face the fear, uncertainty and treatment that I did. If research can reduce that risk for her generation, then every dollar raised is worth it.
Two years ago, my best friend was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully her prognosis is positive, but watching someone you love endure surgery, treatment and the emotional rollercoaster reminds you that cancer affects far more than just the person diagnosed. It impacts families, friends and entire communities.
So this year, I'm walking for breast cancer research.
I'm walking because I got six years I wasn't guaranteed.
I'm walking for my mum.
I'm walking for my best friend.
And most of all, I'm walking for my daughter, and for every daughter who deserves a future with better treatments, earlier detection and, one day, no breast cancer at all.
If you're able to support me, no matter how small the donation, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every step, every donation and every breakthrough in research gives someone else a better chance than I was told I had.
Thank you for helping create that future. 💗

So good mate :)
