Support my swim for breast cancer

This February, I'm taking part in The Big Bold Swim to support breast cancer research and save lives.

I am a 3-time Olympic swimmer and I was able to achieve this because I stand of the shoulders of the women that came before me.

In November 2025 my mum Helen T Cracknell was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

 I got my love of swimming from my mum and it is still something we share. So I thought I could put my passion for swimming to good use.

For years my mum was my “mum-ager” planning everything so I could achieve my dream. Every Olympic race she was there in the crowd.

So, this February I'm swimming to raise funds for Breast Cancer, not just because of mum, but for all mums, daughters, sisters, cousins and aunties. Within the past 12 months my aunty and mum’s cousin have been their own breast cancer journeys.

As a medical scientist I know the importance of clinical trials and how important trials are to finding new and better treatments and prevention strategies for breast cancer.
